Painting on mondays

Mondays | 15 – 17 p.m.

Just try, if you like it... Drawing, spackling, rolling and experimenting with acrylic paint. Adults are invited to join Christa Witte at the chrilden's klingenmuseum, Klosterhof 2, without application. The open studio takes place every moday, except of the school holidays.

Price: 15,00 €; 5 visits paid in advance: 65,00 €.

Sharpening Course

Saturday 14. NOV | 13 – 16 p.m.

Outstanding steel and an amazing processing isn't anything about a knife: A blade has to be sharp an be kept sharp. Real Lovers of course do this themself! So in this course you learn the right way to sharpen under professional guidance from Yunus Turgut (Windmühlenmesser). From selection of suitable whetstone to correct pull it off you will be teached all important techniques and tools.

Dirt-resistant clothing is required. You are welcome to bring your own knives. The number of participants is limited to 12.

Forging Damask

Saturdays 05. DEZ | 12. DEZ | 29. DEZ | 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Our forge opens on the above-noted dates to any person who is interested in forging damask. Our expert-trainer and blacksmith Olaf Knöppges teaches you everything about damask and its features and by the end of the workshop you are leaving with your own forged knife workpiece. The workshop takes place in our forge. Dirt-resistant clothing is recommended, sturdy shoes is required! You are welcome to bring your own food. The number of participants is limited.

Hobbit-Sword: Parent-Child forging

Friday 23. OKT | Monday 28. DEZ |10 – 16 Uhr

It's going to be a great day if parents are forging together with their children. We are creating a Hobbit-Sword! Steel is going to be forged and shaped into a sword, which then is grounded and provided with a crossguard and a pommel. The workshop takes place in our forge. Dirt-resistant clothing is recommended, sturdy shoes and ear protection are required! You are welcome to bring your own food.

The number of participants is limited to seven parent/child-pairs and the child has to have a height of 1,30 and at least be 9 years old.

Casting a bronze sword

Sunday 03. JAN | 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The fascination of bronze casting is unbroken: glowing metal flows into its form and solidifies, and blaze turns into a blade. In this workshop, participants learn how to prepare a mold, how to handle the molten bronze correctly, and how to complete the work in fine detail. The result is a sword a Celtic prince would have been proud of.

The workshop takes place outside, therefore, dirt-resistant and weatherproof clothing is recommended, sturdy shoes is required! You are welcome to bring your own food.
